Under all is the land.
Upon its wise utilization and widely allocated ownership depend
the survival and growth of free institutions and of our civilization.
REALTORS® should recognize that the interests of the nation
and its citizens require the highest and best use of the land and
the widest distribution of land ownership. They require the creation
of adequate housing, the building of functioning cities, the development
of productive industries and farms, and the preservation of a healthful
environment.
The above statement is
the first paragraph of the Preamble to the Code of Ethics and Standards
of Practice of the National Association of REALTORS®. The Code
of Ethics of the NAR was first adopted on July 29, 1913. Each Member
of the Lawrence Board of REALTORS® is committed to the high
standards of business practice and professional conduct as described
in the Code of Ethics. As licensed real estate sales persons, who
have completed additional education to attain the status of REALTOR®,
our Members work to ensure honorable, faithful, and competent service
to their clients, customers, and all members of the public.
